Het is alweer vijf jaar geleden dat we jullie een lijstje met legendarische quotes uit de autowereld voorschotelden. Hoog tijd voor een vervolgdeel.

Over auto’s heeft iedereen wel een mening, die varieert van ‘4 stoelen en een stuur’ tot wat meer diepzinnige opinies. De volgende vonden wij de moeite van het reproduceren waard:

    Die quote van Roland Barthes, die Franse filosoof ontstond toen hij de Citroën DS zag.

    En ik kan het met niemand meer eens zijn dat met de uitspraak van Karl Lagerfeld.
    vooral ” No design, no desire ” mag van mij tot in den eeuwigheid voortleven.

    Die van Damon Hill is wel lachen.
    Maar ik kan me ook nog herinneren hoe ene M.S. na een foutje Damon Hill er maar uit knikkerde, waardoor M.S. kampioen werd en Damon Hill 2e (Adelaide ’94, vet circuit is dat trouwens, V8 Supercars rijden er nog steeds).
    ‘Racing Accident’ was dat toen. Tegenwoordig zou het 10 plaatsen terug, 100.000 USD boete en ene race schorsing zijn.

      @gregorius: dat had het toen ook moeten zijn, want dat was duidelijk een ‘bewussie’ van Shuey. Hij kreeg toen het voordeel van de twijfel nog, 3 jaar later echter niet meer toen hij hetzelfde probeerde bij J. Villeneuve.

      Dezer dagen zijn de straffen soms wat overdreven dat wel IMO.

    Er zitten een paar hele mooie tussen. Laat ik nou net een hele grote garage hebben waar nog een hoop oude posters van beroemde races e.d. in komen te hangen om mijn oude bmw’tje heen. Enkele van deze uitspraken zullen er ook wel tussen komen. Zeker die van Barthes en Ballard!

    “I love the smell of burning rubber in the morning”- tijdens een 24h wedstrijd het mooiste moment als de zon opkomt. (ja, de originele is van de film “Apocalyps now” geloof ik en rubber moet nepalm zijn)

    Ik denk dat Coulthard daar een andere mening over heeft, die eeuwige tweede zal morgen ook nog niet vergeten zijn.
